Book Review #5 - The Fallen Angel, by Daniel Silva

Reason of the choice
When it comes to buy books, I like to play safe, which means I will buy a book written by an author that I have already read and that I liked. When I bought this book, I was wandering which book I would buy and, since there wasn't the first book of A Song of Ice and Fire, I bought this book because I already knew the author and because I really appreciate the “Gabriel Allon series”.

Reaction to the first pages
This books starts with an unclear death, which is something that always gets our attention and it happened to me once again this happened again on this book.

Some people may find it as a regular thing and they may say that Daniel always does this but the truth is that it really works and it is really a smart way to begin his books.

So, due to the great beginning of the book, I always wanted to keep reading the book because there was always something happening that required our attention to avoid missing a little detail that might be important later.

Summary
The book starts with the death of a curator of the Vatican museum and Gabriel Allon is asked to investigate her death. Soon, he discovers who was the murderer and he also found that the murderer was the leader of a criminal organization that was financing Hezbollah.

After discovering that, he went to Switzerland where he was the target of a bomb attack but he lived, which led to another discovery: he found out the man that was the connection between Hezbollah and the murderer of the dead curator.

Gabriel and his team kidnapped him and that man confessed that there would be an attack in Vienna. Fortunately, they were able to dismantle the attack but soon they discovered on their own that there would be another attack but this time it would be in Israel. When they found it, they hadn’t much time to act but, once more, they were very quick and they were able to dismantle, again, the attack with a bonus: they found the first Temple that King Solomon ordered to be built.

After all this, Gabriel pushed Carlo Marchese, the murderer, which led to Carlo’s death.

Highlights
As usual, Daniel Silva's books are always full of action and suspense and that is something that I think that should be highlighted because the plot always requires your atention if you don't want to miss anything.

Moreover, the author's writing style is also very cool because it is so light and it helps very much to keep us engaged in the story.
